Effingham - EHS Administrative Assistant
The EHS Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting compliance and safety initiatives across the organization. This position processes driver qualification files for new and rehired drivers, coordinates drug and alcohol testing and DOT physicals, and manages incident claim forms to ensure timely submission. Additional responsibilities include handling property, liability, and workers’ compensation claims, maintaining injury and illness records, and assisting with safety meeting preparations. The role also involves coordinating EHS newsletter content, performing clerical tasks such as filing and typing, reconciling vendor bills, and completing other duties as assigned.

$18 - $26 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Process Driver Qualification Files for all new and rehired drivers
- Coordinate appointments for drug and alcohol testing and DOT physicals. Process results accordingly
- Assist with company incident claim forms; arrange for their completion and submission within required time limits
- Process property and liability claims, workers compensation claims, injury/ illness records
- Assist in safety meeting preparations
- Coordinate employee newsletter articles about EHS
- Performs clerical functions including typing letters, filing, memos etc
- Reconcile various vendor bills
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics
- A.S. Degree in Business Administration, 1-2 years Technical Degree or minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common data
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- Has a self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Work Environment
The nature of the business requires extended hours.
Physical Demands
May include lifting objects up to 50 pounds and climbing stairs and ladders.
Travel
The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Equity trade area, conferences, educational opportunities, and other job-related activities.
