Effingham - Facilities General Maintenance Technician
In the Facilities Maintenance Technician role, you will perform preventive maintenance and repairs across electrical systems (120–600 VAC), commercial HVAC and plumbing systems, and general facility infrastructure. This position requires proficiency in reading electrical schematics, operating industrial equipment such as skid steers and snowplows, and upholding high housekeeping standards in assigned work areas.

Salary
$21-$30 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain and repair company owned equipment and facilities, indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping in assigned work areas.
- Must have the ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot 120-600 VAC
- Have a working knowledge of commercial HVAC and Plumbing systems
- Attend training as directed by Facilities Project Manager & EHS Director
- Assist other locations, departments and crews as needed
- Operate powered industrial equipment i.e. lawn mower, skid steer, tractor, snowplow
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic auto mechanic & industrial maintenance courses
- Must have a good driving record
- Possess a self-motivating personality as well as team building skills
- Have general plumbing, electrical and mechanical, troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common data
- Possess excellent communication skills; written and verbal
- Must have excellent attention to details, including housekeeping skills
Work Environment
While performing daily duties the employee will be working near moving mechanical equipment, in outside weather conditions, and may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally works in high precarious places. Peak seasonal periods require extended hours. Must be available for emergency breakdowns (nights, weekends, and holidays).
Travel
The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Equity trade area, conferences, educational opportunities, and other job-related activities.
