Robinson - Agronomy Sales


In the Agronomy Sales role, you serve as a trusted agronomic advisor to growers, providing recommendations on fertilizer, crop protection, seed, and agronomic practices while delivering a high‑quality customer experience. Responsibilities include maintaining and growing customer relationships, supporting sales and service programs, coordinating with location leadership, staying informed on market trends, using Agvance effectively, and participating in ongoing training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures
  • Serve as a trusted agronomic advisor by consulting with growers and making informed recommendations for fertilizer, crop protection, seed, and agronomic practices
  • Deliver a best‑in‑class customer experience through proactive communication, responsiveness, and on‑farm relationship management
  • Maintain and grow an existing customer base while identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Assist in developing sales programs, service offerings, and best management practices that drive profitability and customer success
  • Collaborate with the Location Manager to coordinate product movement and custom application scheduling
  • Maintain strong knowledge of competitor products, services, and market trends
  • Effectively utilize the company’s Agvance ERP system
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuing education as directed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in agriculture or bachelor’s degree in agriculture is preferred
  • Must be able to obtain an Illinois Commercial driver’s license (CDL) with required endorsements
  • Must be able to obtain a commercial pesticide license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred
  • Possess a self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills
  • Obtain CCA certification
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with management and customers

Work Environment

The nature of the job may require extended hours.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies up to 50 pounds.
