About the Position

The Equity is seeking an Agronomy Applicator & Operations to be part of our Farmersburg, IN facility. The Agronomy Applicator & Operations will be responsible for applying fertilizer and ag chemicals through custom application equipment in an accurate and efficient manner as ensuring daily maintenance, cleanliness and compliance with state and federal regulations of equipment and facilities. In addition to blending, mixing, delivering, loading and unloading fertilizer, ag chemicals, seed and merchandise as directed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common data
• Obtain and maintain a CDL and necessary endorsements
• Obtain a commercial pesticide license
• Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with management and customers

Key Responsibilities

1. Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures
2. Applies fertilizer and ag chemicals through custom application equipment in an accurate and efficient manner
3. Responsible for daily maintenance, cleanliness and compliance with state and federal regulations of equipment and facilities
4. Blending, mixing, delivering, loading and unloading fertilizer, ag chemicals, seed and merchandise as directed
5. Attend continuing education courses to maintain a quality level of knowledge for the products, regulations, and customer relations
6. In the off-season, may be required to assist corporate shop personnel in repairing and maintaining fleet or operate the truck fleet as directed by the location manager
7. Scout Fields for weed and insect problems, take soil samples, and make field maps
8. Be able to communicate in a professional manner to the producer, salesman and location manager

Work Environment

The nature of the business requires extended hours. Frequently exposed to weather conditions. Working conditions may include exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals with appropriate safety measures. The noise level can be above normal times.

Travel

The employee may be required to travel to other locations, conferences, educational opportunities, and other job-related activities.
